The Australian Macadamia Society’s objective in maintaining an active internet website is to promote and encourage communication with members and the community at large.

Because privacy is an important issue for many users of the internet the AMS has formulated the following statement to reassure visitors to it’s website that we understand those concerns.

Information Collected

When you visit our site

This site is hosted on commercial web hosting facilities. When visiting this site, a record of your visit is logged and the following information is recorded:

the date and time of the visit to the site; and
the pages accessed.

When you email us

We do not necessarily record your email address in any database even though you may be a member of the Australian Macadamia Society or a ‘registered grower’
We will only use your email address for the purpose for which it was provided
It will not be added to any mailing list
We will not disclose it without your consent

E-commerce

When you purchase an item through our website, your personal and financial details are protected at all stages of the transaction. In order to process your payment we need to know:

your name;
address details;
email address; and
credit card details.

Once the transaction has been processed, your credit card details are no longer retained in our system.

Other personal information collected through use of an online form will only be:

collected by lawful and fair means;
used for a lawful purpose; and
collected with your consent.

No data collected from the website will be disclosed to a third party except where it is legally required to do so or where permission has been expressly granted. Information collected is generally only used to respond to inquiries, feedback or complaints.
