Macadamia Industry Levy Flow Chart

There have been many misconceptions within our industry regarding the levy. Some industry players still refer to it as an AMS levy. It is NOT and has not been since the levy become compulsory. It is an Industry levy that is collected by the Levy Revenue Service.

Levy Distribution

The total industry levy is set at the rate of 25.21c/kg kernel. This is approximately equivalent to 8c/kg NIS.

Allocation of the Macadamia industry levy:

• Marketing: The industry contributes a levy to HAL for generic industry marketing (currently this is 17.3c/kg Kernel).
• R&D: Research and Development is funded by the levy (currently 7.2c/kg Kernel) which is matched $ for $ by the Federal Government.
• National Residue Survey: 0.63c/kg Kernel.
